Usually people speak about cultural differencies but now I want to write about similarities between Finnish and Brazilian cultures.
The first week here at AEC-TEA reminds me of typical life at Finnish summer cottage. Going to the market square and buy local food ans supplies because here like in Finland we want to support local farmers and merchants. And usually we do it once a week also. Often you use fruits and vegetables from your own garden.
Also rationing water is similar here and the Finnish Summer cottage. For example if you don´t have a running water and there are lots of people, you need to be economical about bathing and washing dishes and clothes etc...
And the last and most important thing: mosquitos and flys! Even that the distance from here to Finland is several thousands of kilometres, the same familiar sound of buzzing and slapping fills my ears. I don´t even time to feel homesick from all the scratching of mosquitos bites! Outi Tolonen, Finland
