Support Us Print E-mail

AEC-TEA is run solely by volunteers and sustained through student and volunteer contributions. As funding depends on student enrollment and volunteer availability, we welcome donations which help to ensure the continuous functioning of our projects and space.

There are many ways to help!

  •         Volunteer with us
  •      Donate: see ideas below of what we could use, then e-mail Sacia to find out how to get a donation to AEC-TEA:  This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it
  •          Recruit volunteers in your area: print the flier on our home page
  •          Fundraise in your community: a simple e-mail campaign can generate hundreds of dollars in a matter of days!
  •          Help with our website and literature: write, edit, translate, share links or photos
  •          Purchase products advertised on our home page: we receive 40% of the total cost
  •          Click on the Google ads on our home page: Google donates to us!
  •          Spread the word: encourage others to do any of the above

Donate!

  • Monetary donations from abroad can allow AEC-TEA to:

Ensure the continued functioning of our center when student enrollment is low

        - Expand existing projects to reach a greater number of people in our community

        - Create permanent, salaried positions for local residents

                -  Provide routine maintenance and needed renovations to our building

  • We also welcome material donations:

              - Foreign language texts: magazines, comic books, children's books, simple novels

              - Office supplies: dry erase markers, printer cartridges and paper, other basic supplies
              - Language learning materials: CDs, DVDs, teaching resources
              - Computer equipment and software
              - Musical instruments
              - Art supplies: markers, paints, paper, crayons, scissors, glue
              - Kitchenware: pots, pans, containers, appliances
              - Housewares: sheets, towels, mosquito nets, furniture
              - Maps, posters and diagrams

              - Educational games, lab equipment, and models

You can even help from home! Here are a few examples:

  •      Marcos Vinicius de Oliveira designed our logo and promotional material from his home in a neighboring village.
  •          Alacridad collected and brought donated equipment to AEC-TEA, allowing us to offer computer classes, multimedia events, and Capim Grosso's first movie theater!
  •         Chris Bach in Wisconsin, USA, designed our volunteer recruitment flier.
  •         Several former volunteers have held fundraisers in their communities through concerts, dinner parties, dance parties, and Facebook campaigns.
  •     Some volunteers have asked their local libraries to donate children's books which are used during story time at the daycare center.
  •        Modest donations allowed AEC-TEA volunteers to renovate the daycare center's playground.
  •          Countless others have helped through fundraising, helping with our website, sending materials, and donating to our partner organizations.

Thanks to our donors, volunteers and partners around the world!
